Act I: The backstory
The lead up to summer in Missoula is one of my favorite things about this town. So many things are blossoming (apple trees! Arrowleaf balsamroot! All the flowers in my neighbors’ lawns that I take pictures of to identify on my iPhone later and hope to replant!) and it actually starts getting warm.
My fiancé and I moved here from Big Sky where it snowed every month of the year and really didn’t warm up until late June or early July. Despite growing up in Montana and not leaving (at least not yet), I’ve never been a huge fan of the cold or the snow. I did ski lessons and all that when I was young, but it wasn’t really my thing.
Dance, of course, was. I actually had a teacher in high school that low-key forbade us to ski after one of our studio’s dancers broke an ankle or tore an ACL while skiing (I can’t remember which) before a competition.
I thought updating the schedule for the summer would leave it looking a little sparse, but it’s not bad! Definitely a few losses and some things wrapping up in June, but I did a little extra research and found more weekly classes (African, country swing and country line dancing to name a few) to add.
A reminder with this schedule is that while I do check it weekly for accuracy, some things change faster than I’m able to get to. In “Act III” you’ll find all the studios/locations that are mentioned in “Act II: The schedule.” It would behoove you to give those links in Act III a little double-check before planning out your night.

Act II: The schedule, summer 2025
Mondays:
5:00-6:00 pm: Intro to sensual movement at Willow Moon Studio. Beginner. $20 drop in.
5:30-7:00 pm: Contemporary/modern with Bare Bait Dance at Westside Theater. Intermediate/advanced. $15 drop in, $10 for students.
5:30-6:30 pm: Pole progressions at Pole Fiction. Beginner/intermediate. $22 drop in.
6:30-7:30 pm: Salsa with Garden City Salsa at Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre. Intermediate. $10 drop in. Child care provided.
6:15-715 pm: Pole Fit at Willow Moon Studio. All levels. $20 drop in.

7:00-8:30 pm: Misfit country dancing at Show Tyme Academy. Country-swing fusion. Intermediate. $10 for one person, $15 for couples. Register here.

5:30-6:45 pm: Pole fundamentals at Willow Moon Studio. Beginner. $25 drop in.
5:30-6:30 pm: Tricks and transitions at Pole Fiction. Intermediate. $22 drop in.
6:00-7:00 pm: African dance class at UM PARTV 005 studio. All levels. $10, free for students.
6:00-7:00 pm: Lindy hop at 1042 Monroe Street Studio (lower Rattlesnake). All levels. No partner required. $10 drop in. Open practice after class.
6:00-7:00 pm: Tango at Montana Moonlight Studios. Beginner. $10 drop in.
7:00 pm - Country swing dance at Sunrise Saloon. All levels, 21+. Free! Music until 2 a.m.
7:00-8:30 pm: Creative movement for grown ups with Nicole Wolcott at Westside Theater. All levels. $75 five-week session. Register here.
7:00-8:00 pm: Tango at Montana Moonlight Studios. Intermediate. $10 drop in.
7:30-8:30 pm: Pointe at Ballet Arts. Beginner. $15 drop in, $60/month.

6:00-7:15 pm: Rotating classes with KCD company members at the PARTV studio on UM campus. Intermediate. $10 drop in, $5 for students.
7:00-8:00 pm: Hip hop at Roots Gymnastics and Dance. All levels. $15 drop in.
7:00-8:00 pm: Sensual flow at Pole Fiction. Intermediate. $22 drop in.
7:15-8:15 pm: Ballet 2 at Ballet Arts. Intermediate. $15 drop in, $60/month.
Thursdays:
5:30-6:30 pm: Sensual embodiment at Willow Moon Studio. Intermediate. $35 drop in.
5:45-6:45 pm: Pole foundations at Pole Fiction. Beginner. $22 drop in.
6:00-8:00 pm: Country dance lessons, swing and line and Montana Moonlight Studios. All levels. $10 drop in.
6:00-7:10 pm: Tango at Tango Connections Missoula. Beginner class followed by 20-minute practica. All levels. $55 for six weeks, $40 for students. These generally run in six-week sessions. Check the website for more details.
7:00-8:15 pm: Ballet 3 at Ballet Arts. Intermediate/advanced. $15 drop in, $60/month.
